Fourth Grade AWR Students Collaborate with West Virginia PartnerAn AWR fourth grade class researched famous African Americans so they could collaborate with their partner school in West Virginia for Read Across America. The West Virginia school shared projects they did on their iPads about Harriet Tubman, and then AWR students presented their projects which were very well received. A question and answer session between the two schools followed. Some of the African Americans students chose, like Wilma Rudolph and Colin Powell, were not well known to children, so everyone learned a great deal!AWR Talent ShowFifth and sixth grade students from Allen W. Roberts recently participated in their annual Talent Show. Students performed original songs, dances, played instruments, and amazed the crowd with their endless talents. With assistance from PTA volunteers the students practiced for weeks prior and put together an amazing show.
