New Providence High School Named 2011 National Blue Ribbon SchoolNew Providence High School has been named a 2011 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. The announcement was made Thursday, September 15, 2011 by U.S. Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan. NPHS has been honored with the award based on sustained high achievement. This is the highest recognition that a school can receive on the federal level. The U.S. Department of Education will honor the high school and the entire 256 public and 49 private schools with their National Blue Ribbon School awards at a conference and awards ceremony Nov. 14-15 in Washington, D.C.
