• Fingerprints on File scheduled for November 1, 2011
handsFingerprints on File, a voluntary program for children in grades pre-kindergarten through eight, will take place in the New Providence School District on Tuesday, November 1, 2011. Sponsored by the Union County Sheriff"s Office, this service is available to students who are new to the district or who have never been fingerprinted. Preschoolers, accompanied by a parent or guardian, are invited to participate at either Allen W. Roberts or Salt Brook Elementary School.

The Sheriff"s Office will fingerprint eligible students at Salt Brook at 9:30 a.m. and at Allen W. Roberts at 1:00 p.m. Eligible kindergarten students will be fingerprinted in both morning and afternoon sessions at both elementary schools. Any middle school student can be printed at either elementary school during the times provided. Fingerprint cards are provided by the Sheriff"s office and are available in advance from your child"s school. Children who are participating must have the card signed by a parent or guardian at the time of fingerprinting. After fingerprinting, the fingerprints will be placed on the back of the fingerprint cards and will be sent home with the students. No record of any kind will be kept.
