• Polar Bear Plunge

Polar BearNew Providence High School teachers, Colleen Hennesey and Bill Vivona are registered participants for the upcoming 19th "Polar Bear Plunge", to be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012, in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. The annual event traditionally attracts over a thousand participants who "plunge" into the icy February waters of the New Jersey Shore, where water and air temperatures traditionally hover in the low thirty degrees. The charity event requires that "plungers" raise donations to be applied toward support of "The Special Olympics Program". Both teachers are experienced plungers who have previously been involved in the event. Spectators are encouraged to attend the free event, with the actual plunge occurring at 1:00 P.M
