• NPHS Students Excel in Science, Technology,
    Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education
    New Providence High School once again hosted the Hydrogen-Fuel Cell Model Car Challenge, a statewide science competition organized by TransOption. This contest requires that students design and build a model car from scratch, utilize a fuel cell to transform water into hydrogen and oxygen, and to then use this to power the car"s motor. Three teams proudly represented New Providence High School. As a result of their hard work and accomplishments, New Providence was awarded 1st and 2nd place in Engineering, 1st and 2nd place in Experimental Documentation, a 2nd place in craftsmanship, and 3rd place in speed.

    New Providence earned top honors in the annual bridge building competition at Union County College IN November. 350 Students from Union, Morris, Somerset and Middlesex Counties competed at the Cranford Campus to test their engineering skills. The team took first place honors in the novice competition.
