• NPHS Students Attend Model United Nations Conference
Last weekend 78 New Providence students attended the annual Model United Nations conference, at Hershey Park Convention Center. Led by a NPHS student elected as the Secretary General of the entire conference, and six other NP officers, the students debated issues of international concern and engaged in finding solutions to important civic and ethical issues. Our students were part of the passing of a historic 30 resolutions.
To highlight the importance of sharing ideas and information, NPHS successfully organized a book drive, where over 1,600 books were collected and will be given to children in need. The sign of great leaders can be witnessed in not only how they lead in the present but also how they inspire democracy. Our Secretary General and officers should be commended for doing both.
Our delegation received an outstanding delegation award for the first time. In addition, NPHS received a premier delegate award, and many students were invited to attend the leadership building summer program or to return next year to chair committees.
