    World Series of Innovation
    Mrs. Moser"s CAD classes entered the World Series of Innovation, an international competition sponsored by Microsoft designed to foster creative ingenuity, teamwork, and communication skills. The teams worked in conjunction with Mr. Cook"s video design classes to create videos promoting their products and used iMacs provided by the “Goldman Gives” donation and a NPEF grant. A New Providence team placed in the top three in the category “Best New Mobile App Design” for inventing the XPO app.
     
    Bridge Building
    Industrial Arts teacher, Mr. John Russo took several student teams to the Union County Community College Architecture and Engineering Department"s annual bridge building competition. Approximately forty teams from sixteen schools competed. The novice team from New Providence placed third, while the advanced team took second place.

    Hydrogen Cars
    This fall, NPHS once again played host for the TransOption Hydrogen Fuel Cell Model Car Race. Thirty five teams from 12 different schools across New Jersey competed against one another by designing model cars that most efficiently utilized hydrogen collected from hydrolysis reactions. Students had to apply their understanding of several areas of science and technology to successfully win the event.  Students were judged in four different categories: Speed, Craftsmanship, Innovation, and Documentation. New Providence students took 2nd place in craftsmanship, innovation, and in the speed
    category.
