  • Congratulations NPHS!

Congratulations to NPHS, which was ranked #48 in NJ and #808 in the nation!

Congratulations! New Providence High School was ranked #48 in New Jersey in the newly released U.S. News & World Report 2026–2027 Best High Schools rankings.

This represents a 12-position improvement in New Jersey, moving from #60 last year to #48 this year.

Nationally, NPHS rose to #808 out of nearly 18,000 ranked public high schools, which represents an impressive 468-position increase in their national ranking.

The continued strong performance and significant upward movement of New Providence High School reflects the collective work of our students, faculty, staff, administrators, and families.

While rankings are only one measure of school success, this recognition is something our school community can be proud of and reinforces our continued commitment to academic excellence and preparing all students for success beyond high school.

The rankings are based on 2023–2024 school year data and consider multiple measures of school performance.

Factors include state assessment performance and proficiency, college readiness, AP/IB participation and performance, curriculum breadth, graduation rates, and outcomes for historically underserved students.

  • Best Communities in Music Education

New Providence School District has once again been named a "Best Community for Music Education" by the NAMM Foundation!

2026 is our 15th year being recognized for our excellent music opportunities for our students, putting us in the top five most consistent districts in the state, and the highest in Union County. Our continued achievement solidifies our district and our community as a consistent leader in music education in the state of New Jersey.

Achieving this award is a collaborative effort between our dedicated staff and enthusiastic, talented students. Dedication to excellence at all levels made this achievement possible. Thank you to the New Providence community for your support of our music programs!

The BCME award program recognizes and celebrates outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education. Designations are made to districts and schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education.
