NPHS Students Selected for Regional and All-State Ensembles
Four NPHS singers recently represented New Providence High School in the Central New Jersey Region Choirs and one High School student was accepted into the very prestigious All-State Band.
AWR Holds its Holiday Care Fair
One of the key components to the Care Fair was that the students themselves acted as ambassadors, with classrooms of older students working with classes of younger students. A total of $6,948.00 dollars was raised and donated to fifteen different charities.
Students Participate in Model United Nations
Over eighty New Providence students recently attended the annual Model United Nations conference, at Hershey Park Convention Center, along with over 1500 other students.
New Providence Students Compete at NJ Science Olympiad
New Providence high and middle school students recently competed against 22 other schools in the New Jersey Regional Science Olympiad held at Union County College.
New York Liberty Players Visit Salt Brook
Former NY Liberty players Kym Hampton and Sue Wicks, along with other representatives from the organization and their mascot, Maddie, visited Salt Brook to celebrate both National Girls & Women in Sports Day and the 40th Anniversary of Title IX.

NP Middle School Participates in Positive Behavior Support in Schools (PBSIS)
Since the beginning of 2009-10 school year, a group of Middle School staff members have been training in the implementation of the Positive Behaviors Support in Schools (PBSIS) Project, which helps create a positive learning environment with decreased discipline problems and increased opportunities for student learning.
The Preschool classes of A.W.R. recently announced the formation of the “Preschool Paper Pick-Up Pride”. The program was designed to encourage everyone at A.W.R. to recycle paper items throughout the year.
The Pirates of Penzance Coming March 16-18
The New Providence High School music and drama departments are currently rehearsing the classic Gilbert & Sullivan show, The Pirates of Penzance.
Teachers to take the Polar Bear Plunge for Charity
New Providence High School teachers Colleen Hennessey and Bill Vivona are registered participants for the 19th "Polar Bear Plunge" to be held on Saturday, February 25 in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. The charity event requires that 'plungers' raise donations to be applied toward support of The Special Olympics Program.
NPHS Earns Gold Keys in Scholastic Art Awards
Twenty-eight students in the New Providence art department placed in the Scholastic Art Awards, a national competition earning eight gold keys, seven silver keys, and thirteen honorable mentions for their entries.
On a cold January night, Salt Brook held its annual Spelling Bee for students in grades 4-6. The students had first participated in a preliminary round of written and oral spelling in their classrooms that had produced the twelve finalists at each grade level.
