Here’s What’s Happening in Our Schools (click the links to read more)…NPHS has recently been nominated as one of 9 outstanding schools from New Jersey for this prestigious award from the U.S. Department of Education, which recognizes "public and private elementary, middle and high schools whose students achieve at very high levels."The New Providence Education Foundation raised over $55,000 towards implementing a variety of grants in the four district schools.Last weekend New Providence students traveled to Hersey, PA to join 1,500 other students from throughout the state where they debated issues of international concern and engaged in finding solutions to important civic and ethical issues.NPMS students recently competed against 19 other middle schools in the New Jersey Regional Science Olympiad held at Union County College. The team entered 13 events ranging from Anatomy to the Solar System, placing in every event."Prehistoric humans couldn’t go to Home Depot to buy the tools they needed to survive!" 5 th grade students at Allen W. Roberts learn how to design and build tools with natural materials.Salt Brook first graders explore the New Providence Public LibraryThroughout the month of January, 1st grade classes from Salt Brook Elementary School are taking a field trip to the New Providence Public Library to register for their first library card.
District Highlights from Fall 2010!From videoconferencing and dancing with students from Ghana to collecting money for charity, AWR students had a busy fall.Character Education was top of the agenda this fall at Salt Brook school where students conducted themselves with ‘Dignity and Pride' in a variety of activities aimed at helping other people.Middle School students were busy with their Student Service Organization, winning art competitions and entertaining visitors from the Netherlands.New Providence Practical Arts and Science students won awards in engineering and more in Design and Technology competitions.The Music Department presented a full season of highly successful Winter concerts at all four schools.
