District Character Education
2024 - 2025 NPSD Character Education Theme
Our district-wide Character Education program continues to unite Allen W. Roberts Elementary, New Providence Middle School, New Providence High School, and Salt Brook Elementary under a common mission. This year’s theme, “Respect is Homegrown,” encourages our entire community to nurture respect for one another, foster kindness, and cultivate a sense of belonging. We want to empower students to appreciate and honor the differences in others while developing friendships, acceptance, and empathy.
Throughout the school year, we will focus on different Character Education/Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) themes to help reinforce the importance of respect, belonging, and kindness. Our goal is to provide students with opportunities to set their own goals, make positive decisions, and grow both academically and personally. Students will participate in activities that build their confidence, relationships, and decision-making skills, ensuring that the message of respect resonates both in school and beyond.
