District Character Education

2025 - 2026 NPSD Character Education Theme

Our district-wide Character Education program continues to unite Allen W. Roberts Elementary, New Providence Middle School, New Providence High School, and Salt Brook Elementary under a common mission.

"Our district’s 2025-2026 character education theme is “Positivity Creates Possibilities,” and it’s such a powerful reminder of the impact our mindset can have! Positivity isn’t about ignoring challenges—it’s about facing them with hope, resilience, and a belief that growth is always within reach. When we stay positive, we create space for creativity, collaboration, and new opportunities to flourish." - Natasha Allen, Principal of Salt Brook School.

For the first time ever, New Providence School District held a district-wide contest for all students in grades K-12 to create and submit theme ideas for our character education initiative.  Six students' ideas and artwork were chosen as finalists, and then the entire district voted to choose this year's theme.  Congratulations to Salt Brook School students Jackson Wallis and Aahil Ahamed who created the theme and logo "Positivity Creates Possibilities"!

Throughout the school year, we will focus on different Character Education/Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) themes to help reinforce the importance of positivity, belonging, and kindness. Our goal is to provide students with opportunities to set their own goals, make positive decisions, and grow both academically and personally. Students will participate in activities that build their confidence, relationships, and decision-making skills, ensuring that the message of hope and kindness resonates both in school and beyond.
