Mrs. Samantha Goodstein
2019-2020 Mrs. Goodstein will serve as the Reading Specialist for 2nd Grade. She will also be doing 4th, 5th and 6th grade BSI for both Reading and Math this year. She is excited to work collaboratively with the students, staff members and community to improve the academic skills of all students at AWR.
Mrs. Goodstein grew up in New Jersey and went to the midwest for both college and graduate school. This marks her thirteenth year teaching across the United States. Mrs. Goodstein attended Indiana University-Bloomington and received a dual certificate in Special Education and Elementary Education. Upon completing her first year of teaching in CPS, she began a Reading Specialist Masters Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. This program helped to enrich her teaching in the classroom with a focus on reading. She began her career teaching in the Chicago Public Schools in 2007. Until 2014, Mrs. Goodstein taught in the Chicago Public Schools teaching Special Education, Reading and serving as the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Coach. This has allowed her to understand many different facets of education.
She began teaching in New Providence as one of the Reading Specialists in 2015. She has thoroughly enjoyed the community and looks forward to many wonderful years here in the future.
In February 2018, Mrs. Goodstein became a Google Certified Educator. This year, Mrs. Goodstein is taking classes at Fairleigh Dickinson University where she is working towards her Orton-Gillingham Certificate.
She currently resides in northern New Jersey with her husband, daughter and son. She is looking forward to another rewarding year at AWR.
