    The following databases can be used to locate science information for school projects.  To find a login and password for home use, log into the NPHS/MS website and select Research Pathfinders on the library web page menu.
     
     
    Gale Virtual Reference Library A collection of over 300 e-book reference titles covering all subject areas including the science. Available 24/7.
     
    Discovering Collection - Science Thousands of entries exploring the history, people, inventions, discoveries, theories, life forms and objects that make up the world. Includes photos, illustrations, video and animation clips, and a glossary of terms.
     
    New
    eLibrary Science (Proquest) - offers laser-focused science content and tools along with unique videos and dozens of manipulatives.  Includes text and images from reference e-books, features on current events and topics in science, and links to educator-approved websites supplied by Homework Central.

     

    National Science Digital Library (NSDL)  - links to websites and other online information and tools to support teaching and learning in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).  Funded by the National Science Foundation.
     
    New Book of Popular Science  Encyclopedia articles, bibliographical references, tables, special features, photographs, and maps.
     
    Online Science videos: http://www.khanacademy.org  over 2,100 videos and 100 self-paced exercises and assessments covering everything from arithmetic to physics, finance, and history.
     
    Select EBSCOHost Web on the main menu page, then look for:
    Points of View Reference Center provides 200 topics, each with an overview (objective background/description), point (argument) and counterpoint (opposing argument).
    Biography Reference Center  Offers a comprehensive collection of full-text biographies supporting history, science, the arts, music, literature, multicultural studies, gender studies, business, government & politics, sports, entertainment, and many other areas. This database features more than 177,000 full-text biographies from many different sources.
    MAS School Ultra - a periodical database that has full text for many science periodicals.  Green File - offers well-researched information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment.
