PRIDE Quest and PRIDE Assembly
All AWR students recently worked with students from their buddy classes to complete the PRIDE Quest, a scavenger hunt all around the school's buildings and grounds. Each clue included a riddle or problem that students had to work together to solve which led to another clue and a piece of a large puzzle. Teamwork, kindness, responsibility, respect, and caring were the main themes during the quest for clues.
The next day, the entire AWR school came together for an assembly and to piece together all the puzzle pieces discovered during the PRIDE Quest. Mrs. Hansen, Mrs. WanVeer, Mr. Hess and Mrs. Lelli led the students in songs and a pep rally while representatives from each class helped to put the puzzles pieces together. Eventually the pieces showed the poster that stated, “Watch Us Grow Together”. Mrs. Malangone then described how the PRIDE Quest and Assembly kicked off AWR’s Character Education Initiative “Cultivating and Growing a Community of Service”. Students will track individual and class community service hours this school year. The students will also be working together and with their buddy classes to grow strawberries in the AWR garden and donate them to local food banks. Good luck to the AWR school community.
