• Red Ribbon Week

Red RibbonNew Providence Middle School kicked off Red Ribbon Week with a visit from the Union County K9 Unit.

The K9 Assembly is designed to educate students about the responsibilities of a canine partner. Detective Way discussed the two types of K9 dogs those that work in Narcotics and the Bomb sniffing dogs. Detective Way and his partner "Chance" provided a scenario of finding hidden narcotics. Afterwards, Detective Way discussed with the students the short comings of drugs and answered student questions.

In addition, on October 21st, The NPMS Peer Leaders had their annual "stay off drugs" dance. Students had the privilege to dance, enjoy the Wii lounge or stop and grab something to eat or drink at the snack lounge. The whole event was based around providing students opportunities to stay free.
The Red Ribbon week continued into school spirit week with once again the theme being to "stay off drugs".
