• Professional Development in Full Swing
The New Providence School District prides itself on the variety of professional development opportunities it provides to its staff. This fall over 25 different workshops have been offered to the teachers, instructional aides, custodians and support staff.
The workshops have included new teacher orientation, Mathematics and Readers Workshop programs for all 1-6 grade levels, various departmental workshops and opportunities for collaborating subject area and special education teachers to work together on instructional process. In addition, various staff have also attended workshops to introduce new mobile technologies and how they can be implemented into student learning.
In October, the whole district attended presentations and workshops designed around new state mandates required by the "Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act" enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey.
