• Science Olympiad
    Both the NPHS and NPMS recently sent teams to compete in the New Jersey Science Olympiad. The competition involves a variety of events designed to assess the skills of problem solving, critical thinking and the use of technology. The events also emphasize hands-on and minds-on activities, performance as a method for assessing skills, teamwork and cooperative learning, and making applications and connections to the real world.     Both teams were eligible for the state competition by virtue of their high finishes in the Union County competition and competed in a variety of scientific challenges covering a wide range of subjects.
    The NPMS team placed first in Meteorology, and in the top five of the state in Experimental Design, Forestry, and Helicopters.
    The NPHS team placed in the Epidemiology Challenge, Forestry, Robot Arm, Technical Problem Solving and Write-it, Do-it events.
