ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL MUSIC STUDENTS SELECTED FOR REGIONAL AND ALL-STATE ENSEMBLESFive students from New Providence Middle School were recently accepted into honors ensembles at the regional level. Three string students and two wind students will perform with Region Orchestra and Band, both sponsored by CJMEA, the central region of the state music education association. New Providence instrumental music directors Gerald Polci and Edward Fleischman prepared the students for the auditions.One NPMS student was accepted into the NJ Junior High Honor Choir, and seven students from Allen W. RobertsSchool were accepted into theNJ Elementary Honor Choir, all-state groups co-sponsored by the state music education and choral directors associations. Only students with the highest audition scores throughout the state were selected for the choirs. New Providence choral directors Catherine Flynn and Kenneth Hess prepared students for the auditions.
