The annual Bike Rodeo and Safety Day was held in April for all third-grade students at AWR. Students were educated through a video about bike safety, a lesson from Officer Mike Hand of the New Providence Police Department and literature donated by his department. Students also practiced their riding and safety skills on a road obstacle course. A representative from High Gear Cyclery was also on hand to inspect all of the bicycles for the students. The program was also held at Salt Brook school.

Heads up! 6th grade students participated in the annual Egg Drop task by engineering containers that would protect its contents, a raw egg, when dropped from the AWR roof. The students utilized the design process to conceptualize, construct, test, and redesign their containers when necessary. It was a fun day as the students learned the fate of their eggs, as well as basic principles of physics.

The annual AWR Spring Fling event was a big success. This year"s Denim and Gold theme, brought out many parents, friends and AWR staff members to the Basking Ridge Country Club for a fun night for all. All proceeds help to support the PTA and the children of AWR.
