• New Providence Middle School Provides A Host of
    Programs and Student Service Opportunities
    In October,New Providence Middle School was the distinguished host of Administrators from Dutch schools from the Netherlands. NPMS was selected based on its exemplary implementation of interventions and services that nurture a positive behavioral environment for students. The purpose of the trip was to educate Dutch Administrators about the practices and interventions schools in New Jersey are using to address an increasing population of diverse student needs; the primary emphasis being on disabled students functioning in general education settings.
    Student ServicesThe Student Services Organization coordinated a Thanksgiving food drive with the Junior League of Summit. Over 280 bags of food and 210 turkey vouchers were distributed to local families through organizations such as Summit Helping Its People (SHIP), Bridges, AIDS Resource Foundation for Children (ARFC), and the Interfaith Council for the Homeless (ITC).
    PaintingMiddle School students won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in this year"s Peace Poster Contest, sponsored by the New Providence Lions Club, and were awarded savings bonds for their winning entries.
