NEW PROVIDENCE STUDENTS EARN GOLD KEYS IN SCHOLASTIC ART AWARDSTwenty-two students MS and HS students placed in the Scholastic Art Awards, a national competition. Competing regionally against students in thirteen counties, New Providence artists earned fifteen gold keys, four silver keys, and six honorable mentions for their entries. Gold key winners are now national finalists. All art works were judged for originality, technical skill, and emergence of a personal vision. Teachers Lynn Celler, Ilona Lelli, Eileen Mondino, Denise Moser, John Russo, and Bill Vivona registered and prepared their students for competition. All gold key works will be displayed in the Montclair Art Museum between February 10 and March 7, and silver key and honorable mentions will be displayed electronically in an awards ceremony on Thursday night, February 10. Students who receive national awards will be invited to Carnegie Hall for a medals ceremony in the spring.
