Fifth and sixth grade students from Allen W. Roberts and Salt Brook, and Middle School students recently participated in the King Arthur Flour Life Skills Bread Baking Program, and learned that with a little science, a little baking, and some good flour, they could help feed some of those in need in the community.

After the presentation, each student participating was given a bag containing 2 bags of King Arthur Flour, yeast, and directions to make two loaves of bread at home. On the following Monday, students brought one of their freshly baked loaves back to school. Over 300 loaves of bread were donated to SAGE Eldercare/Meals on Wheels, SHIP, and Bridges Outreach, all located in Summit, which will help those in need in the area.
