    Salt Brook School recently celebrated American Education Week with a wide range of activities that included Parent Visitations, Grandparents Day, and the Book Fair.
     
    The fall sports season was very successful for the NPHS football, cross country, volleyball, tennis, and boys and girls soccer teams. Click the link to read more!
     
    In the United States Scholastic Band Association New Jersey State Championships at Union High School, the NPHS band won its 7th State Championship for the band in the last 10 years. The long season culminated in a win at the USSBA National Championships in Allentown, PA!
     
    On November 14th and 15th, Mr. Paul Casarico, Principal of NPHS and Mrs. Eileen Gorman, Department Head of Language Arts were in Washington, DC to attend the 2011 Blue Ribbon Awards Ceremony.
     
    For the past several years, Allen W. Roberts Elementary School has partnered with the Junior League of Summit, Inc. to organize a Thanksgiving food drive to benefit various community organizations.
     
    'Give Thanks' was the theme of the second annual LLD3/LLD4/LLD5 Thanksgiving feast held on November 22nd. In addition, New Providence High School recently hosted its annual Senior Citizen Thanksgiving luncheon.

    Fifth and sixth grade students from Allen W. Roberts and Salt Brook, and Middle School students recently participated in the King Arthur Flour Life Skills Bread Baking Program, and learned that with a little science, a little baking, and some good flour, they could help feed some of those in need in the community.
     
    Led by some truly outstanding performances from the leading ladies, the entire cast and crew of The Miracle Worker drew rave reviews and standing ovations for this year's fall production.
     
    The AWR PRIDE “Mix-It-Up” lunch was a special opportunity for students to continue building a caring community at AWR. This was a special lunch that had an AWR twist.
     
    From building mobile apps and bridges to designing hydrogen-powered model cars the Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Technology teams had a successful fall in various competitions.
     
    New Providence Middle School Student Services made various contributions to the holiday season. The club had their annual Thanks For Giving Basket food drive and this year NPMS donated over 1,000 food items for Thanksgiving.
     
    Two high school students were accepted into the highly competitive Young Curator Program at Montclair Art Museum. The Young Curator program is an internship in which the students work at the museum, attend field trips and participate in workshops designed to develop their curatorial skills.

    With the chill of December came four winter concerts, each featuring the bands, choirs and orchestra of one of our four schools. Every music teacher in the district was involved in the busy concert season.
     
    Salt Brook School recently celebrated World Hello Day. For the event, 6th grade students worked in pairs to develop an original hello hand sign, then each pair shared this with a different class.
