New Providence School District

The New Providence School District will be accepting incoming kindergarten and first grade student registration for the 2023-2024 school year beginning on January 5, 2023 continuing through February 16, 2023.  A child must be five years of age on or before October 1, 2023  to be eligible for enrollment into kindergarten.  A child must be six years of age on or before October 1, 2023 to be eligible for enrollment into first grade. We are excited to announce that this coming school year, 2023-2024, the district will be offering full- day kindergarten.  Please click here to learn more information about our new program.  

The registration process will be completed exclusively online for the 2023-2024 school year.  Our registration process is now a two-part registration. You will first complete a pre-registration, and once the submission is accepted, you will receive an automated email with instructions on how to fill out the remaining registration forms.  This email will prompt you to create a username and password (PowerSchool account) if you do not already have one, for the registration portal- this username and password is different from the provided access ID and password found in the email.

Only a Custodial Parent/Legal Guardian can register a student.  

The following documentation will be required to be uploaded to complete the online registration process.  (Please be advised, if you already have a child registered in our district and have a PowerSchool account, you will not need to create a new account.  Please log in, go to preferences and add your new incoming kindergarten/first grader.  You will need to use the access ID and password found in the email). 

1. Parent/Guardian identification (valid driver’s license, passport or state ID).

2. An original or certified copy of the child’s birth certificate.

3. Current Immunization Records and Health Physical Forms.

4. Four (4) proofs of residency (i.e. property deed, purchase agreement, utility bills, lease agreement, or benefit statement,  other).

5. If applicable, court stamped copy of custody documentation.

6. Request for Student Records Form- if your child is enrolled in a private kindergarten program (outside of New Providence School District) and will be registering for the first grade, please download and complete this form.  Please upload it when completed. 

If your current pre-kindergarten or kindergarten child will be attending kindergarten or first grade in the New Providence School District for the 2023-2024 school year, you do not have to register your child online through the registration portal.  You will receive a notification in August 2023 to update your child’s information as a returning student.  If your child is NOT planning to attend kindergarten or first grade in the New Providence School District, please contact the main office of your child’s school as soon as possible.
